Bryn Snow, Application Director and CGIF board member to judge Future City Competition

Feb 12, 2022 / Events, People

Appplication Director and CGIF board member Bryn Snow will serve as a technical judge for Future City: a project based engineering education program that challenges middle-school students to imagine, design, and build cities of the future.

Participants learn about the wonders of engineering, use the engineering design process to address civic and social issues, and become change-makers in their own communities.

The Finals Competition is a multi-day event that engages educators, student participants, volunteer mentors, technical judges, and leaders in the engineering fields. The livestreamed ceremony typically engages more than 20,000 global viewers.

This year’s theme: A Waste-Free Future

Ceramic and Glass Industry Foundation (CGIF) board members Bryn Snow & Tim Powers will serve as technical judges to award $2,000 to the student design that best demonstrates how glass is being used to create novel technological solutions that help solve sustainability issues, such as combating pollution, improving clean energy, reducing material waste, and applying environmental engineering principles.

The Ceramic and Glass Industry Foundation (CGIF) was established by The American Ceramic Society in 2014 to attract, inspire, and train the next generation of ceramic and glass professionals. The CGIF’s mission is to help industry attract and train the highest quality talent available to work with engineered systems and products that utilize ceramic and glass materials.
