PITTSBURGH, PA –– November 29, 2017 – HarbisonWalker International (HWI), the largest supplier of refractory products and services in the U.S., will be conducting its second job fair in the Ironton, Ohio area for its new, state-of-the-art monolithics South Point manufacturing facility, which is scheduled to open in 2018.

The HWI job fair will be held at Ohio Means Jobs, 120 N. 3rd Street, Ironton, Ohio on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. This event will follow HWI’s first, very successful job fair held earlier this fall at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce offices. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply online in advance of attending the job fair. Information about available positions can be found on HWI’s careers site. HarbisonWalker International representatives are interested in viewing applications and resumes ahead of time to schedule immediate interviews on December 8 and 9, if necessary.

HarbisonWalker International, a leading provider of refractories and services, is headquartered in Pittsburgh and operates in North America, Europe and Asia, with 19 manufacturing plants, 30 distribution centers, and technology facilities in both the United States and China.

Refractories are ceramic materials designed to withstand the very high temperatures encountered in modern manufacturing. More heat-resistant than metals, they are used to line the hot surfaces found inside many industrial processes.

In early 2017, HWI announced its plans to invest $30 million in a new plant. The company broke ground this summer for its new South Point, Ohio facility located at The Point Industrial Park. “The new facility will be one of the most technologically advanced refractories plants built in the U.S. and will be operational by early 2018,” Carol Jackson, chairman and chief executive officer, HWI, said in June.
