HWI is Fully Operational

HarbisonWalker International (HWI), along with tremendous support from our customers, has been working intensely to obtain clarification or any necessary waiver in response to the March 19 Pennsylvania order to close “non-life sustaining businesses.”

I’m pleased to let you know that as of this afternoon, March 23, 2020, we have received an affirmative directive from the Governor’s office, as we await the official written response to our filed waiver/exemption request. Leading officials within the administration recognized the nature of our waiver request. They replied that HWI’s products are very important to many life-sustaining businesses and that HWI “should continue its operations in Pennsylvania.”

Since thousands of businesses have filed for waiver/exemption requests, we expect that it may take some time to receive our written confirmation. Still, we wanted to reassure you that we continue to be well-positioned for uninterrupted production, sales, and servicing of all our products, for all our customers. With respect to Pennsylvania and every state that has issued a COVID-19 health order, HWI is fully operational.

HWI is prepared to proactively work with other state government officials and, as necessary, file exemptions (along with letters of support from many customers) to ensure that HWI’s entire network of operations continues to be available to support customers.

Every day, the security and assurance of supply to all our customers is a top priority for HWI, even as we continue to take all recommended precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of our people.
