HWI to Host Job Fair April 26 for Alabama One

New, state-of-the-art plant is hiring for a range of manufacturing, technical, and additional support positions 

FAIRFIELD, AL — April 7, 2022 — HarbisonWalker International (HWI), the largest supplier of refractory products and services in North America, will host a Career Fair at the Embassy Suites by Hilton, 2300 Woodcrest Place, Birmingham, Alabama, 35209, on April 26, 2022, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Approximately 50 people will be hired for roles in a team-based environment at HWI’s new plant in Fairfield. The company is investing $25 million to convert its closed property at 2595 Ensley-Pleasant Grove Road, into Alabama One (AL1) – a manufacturing, service, and distribution hub for steel customers in the southern United States. The 200,000 sq. ft. facility is expected to open before the end of 2022.

At the April 26 Career Fair, HWI will conduct job screenings and on-site interviews for numerous highly trained technicians and staff positions ranging from electricians, maintenance technicians, mechanical production technicians, along with additional support and supervisory roles. Several jobs will have transferrable skills, such as welders, electricians, and mechanics. HWI will provide training as needed.
