HWI Participation in the Upcoming International Colloquium on Refractories (ICR®)

Sep 15, 2020 / In the News, Events

The 63rd International Colloquium on Refractories (ICR®) 2020 will take place September 16 – 17, 2020 in a virtual setting for researchers and industry experts. The digital concept will cover a virtual congress (with welcome address, keynotes and the Gustav Eirich award), a virtual scientific colloquium (with seven technical sessions and industry presentations) and a virtual industrial exhibition.

The ICR has been a meeting point for refractory experts for years. In addition to the original format as a colloquium to exchange and discuss scientific news in dedicated sessions, ICR today also hosts a large industrial exhibition and is thus both scientific congress and industrial fair. ICR also provides background information in keynote talks about the future of the refractory industry, and hosts the prize giving of the annual Gustav Eirich Award.

This year, HWI CEO and WRA (World Refractory Association) President Carol Jackson will deliver the keynote address, Charting the Future of Refractories in a Global Environment of Uncertainty. Also on the schedule is a technical paper, the Study of Accelerated Dry Out of Monolithic Refractory, written by Application Leader Stephen Karns and Research Engineer Joshua Sayre.
