HWI recently welcomed valued contractor/installer Chase Nedrow to our South Point facility for a refractories seminar designed to provide a deeper understanding of refractory manufacturing, applications, and industry best practices. The event featured a guided tour of our South Point plant, offering attendees a firsthand look at one of the most technologically advanced monolithic refractories facilities in North America.
Participants were able to experience South Point’s unique combination of state-of-the-art manufacturing automation and innovative production technologies, including advanced packaging systems that HWI brought new to the North American refractory market. Attendees also learned how lean manufacturing principles are integrated throughout the facility to maximize material flow, improve efficiency, and support consistent product quality.
Beyond the technical content, the seminar served as an excellent platform for bringing managers from different departments together. Participants were exposed to discussions, meetings, and operational perspectives they may not typically encounter in their day-to-day roles, helping to broaden their understanding of the business.
