Fired Heater Refractory Lining Solutions

Fired heaters are insulated enclosures that are heated internally by a series of burners to heat fluids flowing inside the tubes. Operating a refinery uses a huge amount of energy.  Even a small savings in fired heater fuel can provide large cost savings to refineries.

The majority of fire heaters are designed using the API 560 for general refinery services, which is the industry standard for designing many fire heaters in the oil and petrochemical industry. HWI’s fired heater refractory linings are designed for the highest reliability and thermal insulation possible, which translates to shorter downtimes, longer periods of availability, and reduced energy consumption.

HWI provides every type of refractory product needed to thermally insulate fired heaters, including INSWOOL® ceramic fiber, KAST-O-LITE® low-iron lightweight monolithics, and GREENTHERM low-iron insulating firebrick.

What’s more, we are a distributor of emissivity coatings, a special refractory coating used to maximize efficiency, reduce maintenance and downtime, and enhance the performance of the fired heaters.
