Reformers and cracker process heaters are insulated boxes with tubes running through them that are heated internally by a series of burners.  These burners are frequently designed to heat a refractory wall which radiates energy onto the process tubes.

HarbisonWalker International provides every type of refractory product needed to line reformer and cracker units, including INSWOOL® ceramic fiber modules, KAST-O-LITE® low-iron lightweight monolithics, GREENTHERM low-iron insulating firebrick, CLIPPER® DP super duty firebrick, and KALA® creep-resistant firebrick.

What’s more, we are the primary distributor of Emisshield®, a special refractory coating used to maximize efficiency and reduce maintenance and downtime of steam methane reformers and cracker furnaces.
