Continuous Improvement: Quality

Aug 09, 2017 / HWI News

Our unwavering commitment to customers and quality is a constant at HWI. That’s why we have selected SRI Quality System Registrar as our provider for the ISO 9001-2015 certification process. ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). The standard is used to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

“Adopting ISO 9001 demonstrates that HWI is customer focused and committed to delivering high quality services,” says Joe Schartner, director, Quality and Process Control at HWI “As an independent third-party registrar, SRI is qualified to assess whether HWI has successfully adopted and implemented a quality management system that uses best practices for continuous quality, process improvements and compliance.”

According to Christopher H. Lake, SRI president and COO, “SRI Quality System Registrar is proud to partner with HarbisonWalker International (HWI) as its ISO management system registrar. Founded in the steel industry and one of the longest standing U.S. registrars, SRI is singly the best partner for HWI to continue to deliver world-class refractory products through a best-practice quality management system. HWI has set high standards for itself, and SRI holds the bar high for its clients. HarbisonWalker’s commitment to quality and management systems demonstrates its dedication to meet and exceed customer expectations and continually strive for excellence. SRI looks forward to working with the HWI team, and building a relationship for success between HWI, its customers, and its supply chain.”
