Pittsburgh, PA – November 6, 2017 – HarbisonWalker International’s (HWI) 85+ years of glass industry expertise will be well-represented at the 78th Conference on Glass Problems (GPC), November 6 – 9, 2017 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. HWI will be hosting a Hospitality Booth HB11 during the conference.

As the largest glass manufacturing conference in North America, the GPC event brings glass manufacturers and suppliers from across the globe to share innovations and exchange solutions.

Bryn Snow, manager, Application Technology/Glass at HWI, and Laura Lowe, sales representative at HWI, will present; “Shortening the Rebuild: When and Where Castables are Appropriate” as a refractories-focused component of the conference’s 35 hours of technical education. Laura Lowe is also a Chair for the technical session, “GPC – Refractories and Testing.”

Attendees at the conference will also be hearing about the expansion of HWI’s Hot Repair Materials Stocking Program as part of its industry commitment to providing 24/7/365 solutions for hot repairs.
“We understand the unexpected repair challenges that glassmakers face. Along with the many glass industry-specific products we hold in inventory at our South Shore, KY facility, we are now stocking additional materials at both our Richmond, California and Rahway, New Jersey distribution centers. We want to ensure that our most frequently used materials are easily available whenever and wherever they are needed,” noted Snow.

As a complement to HWI’s participation in the conference, the November issue of Glass Worldwide Magazine will also feature the guest article, “Hot Repairs Require Responsive Refractory Solutions,“ authored by Bryn Snow.

“The Conference on Glass Problems is one of our most important glass industry events, and we’re looking forward to having a strong presence this year,” added Snow.
