HarbisonWalker International’s Importance of Organizational Culture

Mar 08, 2019 / In the News

The importance of organizational culture took center stage this week as HarbisonWalker International CEO Carol R. Jackson addressed a joint meeting of the Pittsburgh Chapters of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).  Her keynote presentation titled “Building a Company Culture that Adds Value and Differentiates” shined a spotlight on HWI’s successful, and ongoing, journey in fostering a positive corporate culture and positioning the company competitively for the future marketplace.

Jackson shared six “top tips” with participants aimed at building a more engaged and aligned workforce: 1) Communicate with Clarity; 2) Lead with Consistency; 3) Acknowledge Everything; 4) Convey the “Why”; 5) Aim High; and 6) Walk the Talk.   She answered questions from the audience regarding her approach to communications and the effectiveness of the channels that she uses, such as her weekly audio message, to reach widespread employee teams.  Jackson described HWI’s workforce to be intense, dedicated, and unified in the vision of “being the first and only call for industry.”
