Phosphate ore, when beneficiated, can be used for fertilizers, animal-feed supplements, industrial chemicals, ceramics, water treatment, fungicides, and metallurgy products. Phosphate rock is mined, washed, then slurry-floated and dried prior to being fed into rotary kilns for calcination. Any process plant unit operating over 500°F requires a refractory lining. Refractories must be inert to the varied process chemistries within each plant. The rotary kiln can operate at temperatures up to 2700°F.
ARCO® 60 HS, a dense, 60 percent alumina firebrick for rotary kiln linings, offers a balance between moderate thermal conductivity values and high strength to help keep brick linings stable in a rotating environment at operating temperatures below 2600°F.
KRUZITE®-70 is a 70 percent alumina firebrick for rotary kiln linings. This product offers a balance between moderate thermal conductivity values and excellent strength to help keep brick linings stable in a rotating environment at operating temperatures below 2700°F.
